Dalton's story

Hi all,

I have received an update about our 2012 ambassador, Dalton Andrews that I wanted to share with you all. His mom is trying to raise funds to check off things on his “bucket list” as his diagnosis in Jan was not good. Please see her comment below. If anyone has any connections in the community that could help with either item let me know. I think it would be great to present one of these items to him at the event. (I have attached a photo of Dalton and Randy. Randy is this year’s 2013 event ambassador).

From Dalton’s Mom about Dalton’s Bucket List - One of the things he wants to do is write a book, or work with someone who could help him put his thoughts in writing. I don’t even know where to start with that one! He said it would be better if it was not someone really close to him, like me, etc. so he can really open up. Also, if you know anyone who would donate a tattoo in our area? He is looking to get a superman insignia with the brain cancer ribbon! Just thoughts..

Update on Dalton’s Diagnosis from his page - Dalton had an MRI on Jan 23, that showed he had relapsed and there were new tumors in his brain. The largest tumor was scheduled to be removed surgically. The other tumors cannot be operated on. That was the worst of the worst news. Dalton found out on this day, that brain cancer would eventually take his life. The when, how, what’s and total disbelief set in. After surgery we met with an oncologist that says that Dalton qualifies for a clinical trial for recurring medduloblastomas. It is an oral daily pill that has less harsh side effects than chemo, etc. This pill gives us hope that Dalton’s tumors could respond.
